A 2-year-old boy in West Bath injured his parents, as well as himself, after he fired a handgun this morning, May 12.
The boy found the weapon unsecured on a nightstand in the family’s home on the New Meadows Road. He picked it up and fired it.
According to WGME, the mother, 22, suffered a leg injury and the father, 25, suffered a minor injury to the back of his head.
The boy was struck in the face by the recoil of the weapon. They were all transported to Mid Coast Hospital for non-life-threatening injuries.
