The Waldoboro Police Department says a 13-year-old boy was pronounced dead at a Wagner Bridge Road home in Waldoboro.

On Thursday, July 27, 2023, at approximately 1:06 pm, the Waldoboro Police Department requested the assistance of Major Crimes Unit Central for a reported 13-year-old male who suffered a self-inflicted gunshot wound at a home on Wagner Bridge Road in Waldoboro. The juvenile male was pronounced dead at the scene. Initial investigation reveals the incident happened in front of two witnesses, both friends of the victim. Major Crimes Unit Detectives continue to investigate the incident.
