There were serious but non-life-threatening injuries in a single vehicle rollover crash on Interstate 95 in Alton.

On Tuesday, July 18, 2023, at approximately 8:52 am, Troopers responded to a single vehicle rollover crash on Interstate 95 at mile marker 199 in Alton. The initial investigation determined that the driver of a 1999 Toyota 4Runner was traveling southbound on Interstate 95 when he veered into the median, overcorrected and lost control of the vehicle leaving the roadway and rolling over in the median. The driver 63-year-old Frederick Rhoda of Auburndale, Florida was ejected from the vehicle. His passenger 64-year-old Patricia Rhoda also of Auburndale, Florida was able to crawl out of the vehicle. Both occupants of the vehicle were not wearing seatbelts and suffered serious but non-life-threatening injuries. Mr. Rhoda and his wife were transported by Old Town Ambulance to Eastern Maine Medical Center in Bangor. The crash remains under investigation.
