Lewiston police urged the public to avoid the area between College Street and Central Avenue this afternoon, May 24, because of a reported standoff.
The department received calls about a man posting concerning things online and evacuated the area out of an abundance of caution.
Please avoid the area of Montello St (Between College and Central). We are currently dealing with a situation and would appreciate it if everyone avoided this area.
