The American Red Cross has announced that they are offering services to those affected by the large, multi-family fire this morning, May 22, on Elm Street in Waterville.
Those who have been affected by this fire and need assistance should call 1-800-RED CROSS.
The Red Cross Disaster Action Team volunteers as well as several staff members responded to the scene to support displaced residents and first responders.
Currently, the Red Cross is helping to support 48 individuals. Need varies by individual – so assistance may include financial assistance, comfort kits, disaster-related health services and emotional support. The Red Cross is also providing mass care services, which means ensuring that displaced residents have a safe place to stay and access to meals.
The Red Cross is available to provide care and comfort in the aftermath of this disaster. Displaced residents will connect with Red Cross caseworkers in the coming days to work on a longer-term recovery plan.
