Last night, Nov. 13, the Portland City Council approved the use of Fitzpatrick Stadium for a new professional soccer team.
Portland United, LLC (USL Soccer) signed an agreement for five years beginning February 1, 2024, with options for two additional 5-year terms.
Portland United is planning to have 25 home game dates, with scheduling done in advance to allow for other users.
Portland has officially approved letting a professional soccer team use Fitzpatrick Stadium for their home games. Soccer fans celebrated the news inside city hall last night.
