No Camping Signs Go Up in Waterville Due to Safety Issues

  • Post category:Local / News

The city of Waterville will begin to enforce no camping ordinances in response to issues in open spaces south of the Riverwalk and at Leeman Island at the south end.

There have been thousands of hypodermic needles found on the trail north of the Riverwalk, plus human feces is also an issue in the area.

Officials say the city will begin enforcing existing rules. There are no approved campgrounds in Waterville. The city ordinance says that all public parks in Waterville are only open 6 am to 10pm.
