The human skeletal remains discovered off the Red Bridge Road in Ellsworth on Nov. 14, have been identified as those of Anson Snowdeal, 43, of Sullivan.
From the Maine State Police:
On Tuesday, November 14, 2023, at approximately 8:55 am the Maine State Police was notified by the Ellsworth Police Department of the discovery of human skeletal remains. Commercial land surveyors discovered the remains in the woods off the Red Bridge Road in Ellsworth. The Maine State Police’s Major Crimes Unit North responded to assist with the investigation. The remains were transported to the Office of Chief Medical Examiner (OCME) in Augusta where an autopsy was performed. The OCME was able to positively identify the remains as 43-year-old Anson Snowdeal of Sullivan. DOB (8/2/1980) Mr. Snowdeal was last seen in Ellsworth on February 9, 2022 when he left a family member’s apartment on foot. A Maine State Police led investigation indicated that Mr. Snowdeal disappeared voluntarily and appeared to be avoiding efforts to be located. The cause and manner of death are pending but the autopsy and police investigation does not support that Mr. Snowdeal’s death was the result of criminal conduct.
#UPDATE: Police say the human remains found in Ellsworth last week have been identified as a Sullivan man who had been missing since 2022.https://t.co/JBl78GCVOC
