Eliot Cutler, who ran for governor in Maine in 2010, will begin serving his prison sentence today, June 1, in the Hancock County Jail.
Cutler pleaded guilty to four counts involving possession of child pornography last month. Over 80,000 images of children being sexually assaulted were discovered in his possession. He was given a four-year sentence with only nine months to be served.
Cutler will also serve six-years of probation and have to register as a sex offender.
