Fatal Fire in China

The Fire Marshal’s Office is on the scene of a fatal fire in China. The fire started this morning, April 7, at approximately 10:00 am at a home at 93 Dutton Road in China.

From the Maine State Police:

Discovered in the fire was a deceased male believed to be the homeowner, 53-year-old David Buchanan. FMO Investigators are removing the remains from the debris so they can be transported to the Office of Chief Medical Examiner in Augusta where a positive ID will be made. Investigators will remain at the location for the rest of the day to process the scene. They have no reason to suspect foul play at this time. This is an active investigation. Responding agencies are the China Fire Department, Albion Fire, China Village Fire, South China Fire, Weeks Mills Fire, Vassalboro Fire, Waterville Fire, Winslow Fire, Delta Ambulance, China Rescue and the Cascade Truck from the Central Maine Fire Attack School.
