This morning, July 28, a tractor-trailer hauling woodchips crashed on Dover Road in Charleston and the driver suffered serious injuries.

On Friday, July 28, 2023, at approximately 11:31 am, the Bangor Regional Communications Center received calls that a tractor-trailer hauling woodchips crashed on Dover Road in Charleston and that the driver had suffered serious injuries. State Police responded to the scene and learned that the cause of the crash was likely due to the driver experiencing a medical event before going off the road. Witnesses of the crash reported the driver of the tractor-trailer drove off the road without ever touching the brakes. The driver, 71-year-old Paul Jackson of Dover Foxcroft, was transported to Eastern Maine Medical Center in Bangor with serious but non-life-threatening injuries. The crash remains under investigation.
