16-year-old Mohamed Aden of Lewiston and 21-year-old Shoeb Mohamed Adan of Springfield, Massachusetts, have been identified as the homicide victims in an incident in Poland.

On Tuesday, February 21, 2023, at approximately 7:18 am, the Androscoggin County Sheriff’s Department conducted a welfare check at 205 Tripp Lake Road in Poland. During their investigation Deputies located the bodies of two deceased males within the residence. The Maine State Police Major Crimes Unit and Maine State Police Southern Field Division were notified and assisted Deputies in securing the home for further investigation. The bodies of the two deceased males were transported to the Office of Chief Medical Examiner (OCME) in Augusta to determine identity and cause and manner of death. The OCME investigation identified the two males as 21-year-old Shoeb Mohamed Adan of Springfield, Massachusetts, and 16-year-
old Mohamed Aden of Lewiston, Maine. The OCME has ruled the deaths a homicide. The Maine State Police Major Crimes Unit and Androscoggin County Sheriff’s Department have been conducting interviews and following up on leads in Maine and Massachusetts.
