Boothbay Native First Woman to Race Solo Around the World

Maine-native Cole Brauer, 29, is the the first American woman to circle the globe at sea without making any stops. This week she completed the the Global Solo Challenge, sailing into the same Spanish port she left from four months ago.

Brauer, who got her start sailing off the coast of Boothbay Harbor, not only is the first woman to finish, but she also came in second in the entire competition.
