The Maine Medical Examiner’s Office confirmed on Thursday, Aug. 24, that the body found in the ocean is that of 18-year old Tylar Michaud.
A Jonesport lobsterman found Michaud’s body in the water near Addison.
Michaud a Steuben lobsterman, went missing on July 21 near Petit Manan Island.

We received confirmation yesterday from the Office of Chief Medical Examiner that the body recovered near Addison on August 21st was Tylar Michaud. I’m grateful for the tremendous outpouring of support that followed Tylar’s disappearance. The efforts of all who joined in the difficult search were unprecedented. Many agencies and individuals devoted countless hours to this search. It speaks volumes about the profound impact a loss like this can have.
