Did you know teenagers, 16-17, in Maine can currently legally get married with parental consent? That could be changing. Legislation yesterday, May 18, passed through the state Senate on that prohibits those under 17 from getting married.
Children younger than 16 currently can’t get married in Maine.
The bill will now face final votes in the Maine House and Senate.
