Any bird observed in Maine through March 15, 2023 will help complete the five-year Maine Bird Atlas project.
You don’t need to be a birding expert to provide valuable observations to this citizen science project. Every bird sighting helps, even the birds in your backyard or at your feeder.
Sharing your sightings is easy!
- Step 1: Go outside OR watch for birds in your yard from the comfort of your home
- Step 2: Take note of:
What species you see
When (day and estimate of time)
Where you see it
AND
How many individuals of a species you see at any one time - Step 3: Create an account at ebird.org/me
- Step 4: Log into your account at ebird.org/me and click “Submit.” Follow the prompts to enter your observations.
